The museum is entirely dedicated to the finds unearthed during the excavation campaigns that have taken place over time, starting in the late 1960s, within the Roman Villa of Varignano. The exhibition venue is a rural farmhouse built in the 17th century next to the Roman walls that were part of the complex’s productive area. As the Villa had a dual soul, one residential and the other agricultural, it was decided to dedicate a floor to each.

Pars
rustica
On the ground floor there is space for objects related to the operation of the rustic part, and for this reason the guiding colour here is olive green, since oil production is an excellence of the estate, at least in the initial phase.
Villa
maritima
On the first floor are exhibits from the residential part. It is dedicated to the rich residence of the dominus and the dominant colour is blue to evoke the sea that the building overlooked.
