The memory of the ancient occupation of the area has been handed down over time, reinforced by the fact that the imposing construction of the cistern has defied the centuries.
The then Superintendency of Antiquities of Liguria, after the first preliminary explorations, launched a series of excavation campaigns in the late 1960s that continued over the years, bringing to light almost the entire area occupied by the Villa and its annexes.
The results of the investigations have largely been made known through scientific publications and popular texts.
With the exception of the necessary maintenance, the work carried out in recent years has mainly been aimed at making the archaeological site optimally usable, focusing on aspects related to valorisation.
The Villa is currently managed on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Liguria.
